Financial Reporting Manager

Spacesaver Solutions Inc. is on the lookout for a proficient and seasoned Accounting Manager to enhance our finance division. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Accounting Manager will take charge of daily accounting operations, oversee financial reporting activities, manage payroll, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards across all corporate entities. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of accounting principles and demonstrate the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engage in the daily operations of the accounting department, encompassing accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and payroll management.
Guarantee timely processing of payroll, T4s, ROEs, and vacation calculations.
Ensure accurate and prompt handling of financial transactions, including invoicing, billing, and expense oversight.
Compile and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in alignment with Canadian ASPE.
Establish and uphold internal controls to protect company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
Support the annual budgeting process and generate regular forecasts to aid financial planning and decision-making.
Collaborate with external auditors to streamline the annual audit process and address any findings or recommendations.
Prepare and submit tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to facilitate business operations and strategic initiatives.
Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and standards.
Work in partnership with cross-functional teams to promote strategic initiatives and business growth opportunities.
Continuously enhance accounting and financial processes to support organizational development.
Assist the CFO with special projects and initiatives as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
CPA designation preferred or actively pursuing designation is required.
At least 5 years of progressive experience in an accounting or finance role.
Strong knowledge of Canadian ASPE and financial accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ADP systems is a plus.
Experience in a multi-entity environment is advantageous.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Demonstrated ability to cultivate a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively across departments and influencing decision-making at all organizational levels.
