About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bakery Team Member to join our team at Saint Germain Bakery (Toronto) Ltd. in Toronto. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of breads, pastries, and other sweet and savory goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Pastry Preparation: Prepare pastry for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Baking and Quality Control: Bake mixed dough and batters, and ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
  • Staff Training and Supervision: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service and ensure that customers are satisfied with their purchases.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a bakery or related field.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Language: English.
