About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bakery Team Member to join our team at Saint Germain Bakery (Toronto) Ltd. in Toronto. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of breads, pastries, and sweet goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, as well as batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Pastry Preparation: Prepare pastry for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Baking and Decorating: Bake mixed dough and batters, frost and decorate cakes and baked goods.
  • Staff Training: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
  • Inventory Organization: Organize and maintain inventory of ingredients and supplies.
  • Supervision: Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with ability to work under pressure.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding with ability to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
