About the Opportunity

The City of Barrie is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Project Manager to join our Infrastructure Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and administration of capital and operating projects for our municipal infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the design, utility coordination, approvals, tendering, and administration of assigned capital and operating projects.
  • Assist in the planning of capital and operating projects for expansions and improvements to the City's infrastructure.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance on the impact of development on municipal networks.
  • Supervise a team of design staff or construction engineering inspectors.
Requirements
  • Three (3) year College Diploma in Civil Engineering or related and eight (8) years of related work experience; or Four (4) year University Degree in Civil Engineering or related and six (6) years of related work experience.
  • Completion of Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) Designation from the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).
  • Eligibility for and willingness to obtain Professional Engineer (P. Eng) Licence from the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO).
  • Six (6) years of experience performing duties related to the above-mentioned major responsibilities, including demonstrated leadership/supervisory experience.
