The Interior Health Authority is seeking a locum ophthalmologist to provide temporary coverage in a well-run and efficient office. This opportunity is ideal for a physician looking to gain experience in adult ophthalmology, with a focus on glaucoma, cataract, and general ophthalmology consults.

The locum position will offer a range of medical and surgical volume, allowing the candidate to tailor their experience to their interests. There is also an opportunity to develop skills in oculoplastic surgery, with a significant number of surgical eyelid cases available.

The office is equipped with advanced diagnostic equipment, including OCT, visual fields, topography, YAG, SLT, and Argon lasers. The locum will have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced healthcare professionals and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide temporary ophthalmology coverage in a well-run and efficient office
  2. Gain experience in adult ophthalmology, with a focus on glaucoma, cataract, and general ophthalmology consults
  3. Develop skills in oculoplastic surgery, with a focus on surgical eyelid cases
  4. Work with a team of experienced healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care

Requirements:

  1. Eligible to practice medicine in Canada
  2. Experience in ophthalmology, with a focus on adult ophthalmology
  3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
