Job Title: Cashier

Everyday Groceries Ltd. is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, operating a cash register, and processing transactions accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a cash register and process transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries
  • Process money, cheques, and credit/debit card payments
  • Scan items and tabulate total payment for goods or services required
  • Receive payment for goods or services and calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales
  • Greet customers and provide a positive shopping experience
  • Wrap or place merchandise in bags and calculate foreign currency exchange
  • Verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco products
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a retail or customer service environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a cash register
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position that requires working on site at our supermarket/grocery store location. There is no option to work remotely.
