Position Overview:

We are currently in search of a Trailer Maintenance Technician to enhance our operations at our Winnipeg Terminal.

This role reports directly to the Trailer/Tractor Maintenance Foreman and is accountable for performing routine maintenance on our trailer fleet. Additional repairs on various equipment may also be part of the responsibilities. The technician will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure exceptional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and servicing Execute repairs on electrical systems, interiors, air brake systems, tires, and bodywork, including welding as necessary Assist with various repair tasks and general maintenance duties Perform safety inspections Repair or replace equipment as needed Evaluate equipment to determine if external repairs are required Identify and report any faults or malfunctions in company equipment Coordinate with other maintenance personnel and terminal staff to prioritize repair tasks Maintain a tidy and organized workspace Adhere to all safety protocols and Gardewine's operational policies Undertake additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a minimum of two years of experience in a fast-paced maintenance environment. Knowledge and hands-on experience in preventative maintenance, including electrical systems, interiors, air brake systems, tires, welding, and bodywork, are essential. Government Inspection Certification is preferred. Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills are required. The ability to work independently while being a collaborative team member is crucial. A basic set of hand tools is necessary.

Physical Demands:

The physical requirements for the Trailer Maintenance Technician role are above average. Candidates must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, bending and twisting frequently, and standing for extended periods. Climbing in and out of tractors and trailers is necessary. A good sense of balance and coordination is required, along with the ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights. The role involves working in varying temperatures, depending on the season, and operating power equipment. Personal protective equipment is mandatory.
