Child & Family Services of Central Manitoba Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Intake Worker. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting families and ensuring the well-being of children.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the primary point of contact for new referrals, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring timely responses.
- Conduct thorough assessments to determine the suitability of referrals under the Child and Family Services Act.
- Take immediate action to protect children when necessary, in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
- Refer intakes that do not meet the Act's parameters to relevant services, ensuring seamless transitions and support.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, adhering to administrative requirements and agency protocols.
- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, with a background in Child and Family Services.
- Eligibility for registration with the College of Social Work is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act and several years of experience in Child and Family Services.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Demonstrated expertise in assessing risk in child protection situations, with a strong commitment to ensuring child safety.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work demands, including occasional evening or weekend coverage.
