About the Sprinkler Fitter Position

The Fire Sprinkler Fitter will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of assigned projects by coordinating with the Labour Supervisor and Project Manager. This individual will be responsible for ensuring all necessary resources are available and that the installation is of the highest quality, meeting customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the Labour Supervisor/Project Manager to optimize project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement quality and safety controls to maintain a safe work environment and deliver superior installation quality.
  • Manage company-issued vehicles, equipment, and tools, ensuring their proper use, maintenance, and protection.
  • Submit accurate and timely weekly timesheets to the Payroll Department.
  • Attend pre-construction, coordination, and job progress meetings to ensure a clear understanding of project requirements and to communicate necessary information to the project team.
  • Collaborate with the Labour Supervisor and Project Manager to ensure timely material delivery and project start dates align with project schedules.
  • Participate in in-house meetings and training sessions, contributing to the development of good installation procedures and safety practices.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to company apprentices, technicians, designers, and shop employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Labour Supervisor and/or Project Manager.
  • Submit written job progress reports as requested by the Labour Supervisor.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience installing sprinkler/fire protection systems.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record and no DUI convictions.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Read and understand construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
