About the Role

As a vital member of our team, the HVAC/R Technician will operate under the guidance of the Assistant Manager, Maintenance and Operations. This position involves a range of responsibilities essential for the upkeep, repair, enhancement, and installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across various facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on HVAC/R systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Install new heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment as required.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and codes while executing tasks.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients and staff.
  • Participate in ongoing training and skill development opportunities.

Qualifications

We invite candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited HVAC/R apprenticeship program.
  • Valid Nova Scotia Journeyperson Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Certificate.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in the field as a journeyperson.
  • Strong understanding of safety codes and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and handle emergency situations.
  • Physical capability to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Possession of a valid Nova Scotia driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Availability for on-call duties as needed.
  • Experience with commercial refrigeration equipment is an asset.

Work Schedule

  • This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 75 hours bi-weekly.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this position is $32.65. Successful candidates may qualify for a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance, along with a defined benefit pension plan.
