Job Summary

The Clinical Leader plays a pivotal role in supporting and promoting quality care delivery for surgical patients and their families. This position collaborates with the Clinical Manager to ensure seamless care coordination and effective problem-solving within the multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in quality improvement activities to enhance patient care and outcomes
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize staffing resources and care delivery
  • Manage operational supplies and equipment to ensure efficient and effective care
  • Lead change effectively within the unit and facilitate communication between departments and programs
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote team spirit, cohesiveness, motivation, and commitment to program goals
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate Degree in one of the Health Disciplines
  • Current Certification as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario (BScN preferred)
  • Recent (2-3 years) Peri-Operative Experience (OR, MDRD)
  • Demonstrated leadership and coordination skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability and knowledge to access hospital resources
  • Demonstrated excellence in leadership, communication, organization, team building, and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated advanced critical thinking skills in the provision of patient-centered care
  • Demonstrated ability to support change in a constructive manner
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous education and learning for self and others
  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Hamilton Health Sciences
  • Successful completion of Lean Healthcare training
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access
