Job Summary

York University is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our Student Financial Services team as a Student Financial Processing Assistant. This role is responsible for coordinating and processing student account activity and financial aid applications, ensuring timely and accurate financial administration processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and process student account activity, including accounts receivable and debt collection.
  • Support the financial aid application process, reviewing and processing documentation in a large database.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to maintain accurate and up-to-date student information systems.
  • Exercise initiative and good judgment when applying guidelines and regulations.
Requirements
  • Two years' related financial administrative experience, preferably in a post-secondary environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to students.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer skills, specifically MS Word, MS Excel, and large student or client information database.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive files.
