Position Overview: The Senior Commercial Lawyer will be tasked with offering expert legal counsel and services in areas such as corporate law, contract law, construction law, estate planning, property transactions, and immigration law. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in drafting legal documents, managing business transactions, and providing comprehensive legal guidance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Draft and evaluate legal documents including contracts, agreements, estate plans, and representation contracts.
  • Manage both residential and commercial property transactions and financing deals.
  • Provide legal counsel in fields such as corporate law, contract law, construction law, property assessments, and insurance.
  • Oversee corporate and business legal matters including incorporation, dissolution, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial dealings.
  • Facilitate the buying and selling of businesses (assets and shares).
  • Advise on commercial leasing agreements.
  • Offer legal assistance in immigration-related issues.
  • Stay informed on current laws and regulations.
  • Deliver exceptional client service, addressing legal concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with fellow legal professionals and support staff to provide comprehensive legal solutions.

Qualifications:

  • A law degree (LLB or JD) from an accredited institution.
  • Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • A minimum of five years of experience as a solicitor with a strong focus on insurance law.
  • Extensive background in estate planning, representation agreements, and property transactions.
  • Proficient in legal drafting and providing general legal advice in corporate, contract, and construction law.
  • Solid understanding of corporate and business law, including mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, and leasing.
  • Experience in immigration law.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
