Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive Safely: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Load and Unload: Load and unload goods, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of cargo.
  • Permits and Documents: Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Emergency Repairs: Perform emergency roadside repairs to minimize downtime and ensure timely delivery.
  • Inspections and Record-Keeping: Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, recording cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
Requirements:
  • Certifications: Air Brakes Endorsement and Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Experience: Will train
  • Language: English
  • Work Hours: 50 hours per week
