Transportation Coordinator

About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transportation Dispatcher to join our team at ADESA/OPENLANE Canada. As a key member of our transportation department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate Transportation Operations: Assist in coordinating long haul, rail, and local trips, and complete all relevant paperwork to ensure seamless pickup and delivery.
- Data Entry and Management: Accurately and efficiently enter data into our transportation and inventory management systems, including vehicle information, locations, and other documents.
- Transportation Services and Transactions: Quote transportation services, process transactions, and post charges according to contracts and company specifications.
- Discrepancy Investigation and Communication: Investigate any discrepancies and communicate them to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Scheduling and Staffing: Assist with scheduling for transport drivers, ensuring adequate staffing in connection with the volume of driveaway services.
- Customer Service and Support: Act as a point of contact for transportation services within the VLC, ensuring customers receive prompt, efficient, and courteous attention.
- Transportation Services Promotion: Proactively promote transportation services in collaboration with our Sales & Dealer Relations teams.
- Employee Support and Training: Assist with onboarding, training, and supporting transportation employees with job-related tasks.
- Vehicle Maintenance and Safety: Assist in ensuring all company vehicles are in safe operating condition by scheduling regular maintenance and ensuring weekly van inspections are completed in accordance with our safety program.
