Position Overview

Qualifications

Work Environment

This position is primarily based in a home care and visiting care agency, where the focus is on delivering personalized care to patients in their residences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the cleaning, sterilization, and setup of medical apparatus.
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Provide meal services and assist patients with eating.
  • Support patients with mobility, including lifting, turning, and positioning.
  • Facilitate communication by delivering messages and specimens between departments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient rooms.
  • Administer specific medical procedures, including suppositories and enemas.
  • Keep track of medical supplies and inventory.
  • Assist with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing and grooming.
  • Transport patients safely between care facilities.
  • Respond to patient call signals to address their needs.
  • Collect medical specimens as required.
  • Prepare patients for surgical procedures by ensuring cleanliness and readiness of operative areas.
  • Provide first aid when necessary in emergency situations.
Employment Details

This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 30 to 40 hours per week. The primary language of work is English.
