Position Overview

We are in search of a meticulous and seasoned IT Business Consultant to become a vital part of our dynamic team. The IT Business Consultant will be instrumental in assessing and defining IT requirements, ensuring that technological solutions align with business needs. The ideal candidate will possess a robust technical background, coupled with exceptional analytical and communication abilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an IT Business Consultant or in a similar capacity within technology client projects.
  • Strong grasp of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with business process modeling tools and techniques.
  • Preferred experience working with government entities.
  • Outstanding client-facing communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with enterprise software solutions and IT infrastructure.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), Jira, Trello, Miro, DevOps, etc.
  • Relevant certifications such as CBAP or PMI-PBA are advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, adaptable to change, and committed to continuous learning.
  • Belief in coaching and mentoring team members as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders to comprehend business objectives and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of existing systems, processes, and workflows to pinpoint areas for enhancement.
  • Develop functional specifications (FRD), user stories & personas, process maps, and Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) for IT projects, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops with business stakeholders and IT teams to gather and prioritize requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with development and QA teams to ensure precise and timely implementation of solutions.
  • Perform gap analysis and provide post-implementation support.
  • Assist project managers in planning, monitoring progress, and ensuring delivery within scope and timelines.
  • Support user acceptance testing and coordinate the rollout of new systems and enhancements.
  • Actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
