Senior Project Manager
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Senior Project Manager is tasked with overseeing a range of capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects that align with the strategic and operational objectives of the organization.
Main Responsibilities
- Engage with various stakeholders to pinpoint operational requirements that necessitate CAPEX investments, assess their urgency and priorities, and provide preliminary cost and feasibility evaluations.
- Assume complete accountability for the execution of the project portfolio, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints while fulfilling stakeholder expectations. The Senior Project Manager is also expected to adjust project priorities as operational demands shift. The portfolio may encompass 10 to 20 projects with significant financial implications, categorized into: Health, Safety and Environment, Quality and Regulatory Compliance, Cost Improvement, Product Innovation, and Equipment Replacement.
- Leverage external engineering expertise to define, develop, and implement individual projects effectively.
- Serve as a consultant to other departments (scheduling, management, safety, maintenance, operations, quality) to address challenges they face.
- Maintain close collaboration and effective communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, which is crucial for success.
- Exhibit the ability to navigate uncertainty, demonstrate adaptability, make swift decisions, and formulate return on investment (ROI) analyses to substantiate investments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Registered with the Quebec Order of Engineers (OIQ).
- PMP certification is advantageous.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is required, as most interactions with external stakeholders will occur in English. Must possess negotiation skills and be capable of engaging in complex discussions.
- A proven track record of 4-5 years in executing multidisciplinary CAPEX projects within a collaborative environment, preferably in the food, beverage, or pharmaceutical sectors.
- Experience in infrastructure projects (building, ammonia, compressed air, steam, water) is a plus.
- A keen acumen for business investments.
Work Schedule
- Standard daytime hours, Monday to Friday.
- Telecommuting is not available for this role; daily on-site presence is required.
