Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Terminal Equipment Specialist to join our team at CP. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various terminal equipment, including shunt trucks, forklifts, and trailers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate terminal equipment, including shunt trucks, forklifts, and trailers, to support train loading operations.
  • Host containers and chassis within the terminal to ensure efficient train loading.
  • Perform pre-tripping of perishable intermodal containers and build electric reefer container sets on railcars.
  • Conduct visual inspections and report on damages and defects of intermodal equipment.
  • Prepare railcars for loading by placing pedestals and spacers.
  • Assist in securing containers once loaded to railcars.
  • Update systems as required after completing work.

Requirements

  • High School Graduation or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
  • Advanced reading and writing skills, including the ability to follow written instruction and training in skills such as driving.
  • Strong safety mindset, with a focus on safety-sensitive positions in heavy equipment environments.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
