Job Title: Driller Assistant

Job Summary:

Boart Longyear is seeking a skilled Driller Assistant to join our team in Saskatoon, Canada. As a Driller Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our drilling operations, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of drilling projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist drillers in the operation of drilling equipment, including rods and drilling tools.
  • Collect and handle samples, mix drilling fluids, and perform basic maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Conduct daily drill reports and inventory logs, and maintain accurate operating records.
  • Support the drilling operations team in maintaining a safe workplace, monitoring risk management processes, and applying first aid when necessary.
  • Provide training and coaching to other field employees, and contribute to establishing effective workplace relationships.

Requirements:

  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Sufficient language skills, literacy, and numeracy skills to perform all job-related tasks
  • Labor background is considered an asset
  • Exposure to diamond drilling environments and techniques is considered an asset
  • Ability to meet the Fitness for Duty program standards
