Job Title: Private Equity Senior Fund Accountant

SS&C Fund Administration Company is seeking a highly skilled Private Equity Senior Fund Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our fund accounting team, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial data for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain all financial data in the investment database, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Post all journal entries and prepare monthly trial balance reports, providing a clear picture of our clients' financial performance.
  • Reconcile all cash received from investors and investments, ensuring that all transactions are properly accounted for.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, verifying that all transactions are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Calculate capital calls and distributions, ensuring that our clients receive accurate and timely information.
  • Allocate income to partners in accordance with the terms of partnership agreements, ensuring that all parties are fairly represented.
  • Prepare and issue monthly/quarterly financial reporting, providing our clients with a clear understanding of their financial performance.
  • Maintain and update investment data, including the number of shares, location of securities, and country of origin.
  • Manage relationships with clients and counterparties, handling queries and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with the implementation of new clients and special projects, ensuring a smooth transition and high-quality results.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance, with a strong background in financial reporting and analysis.
  • CPA and/or MBA are strong pluses, demonstrating a high level of expertise and knowledge in the field.
  • 2+ years of experience in fund accounting, preferably within the Private Equity field, with a strong understanding of financial products and services.
  • Strong knowledge of Bloomberg, financial reporting, and financial products, including equities, futures, and fixed income.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and counterparties.
  • Prior experience training, delegating tasks, and reviewing work is a plus, demonstrating a high level of leadership and management skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
