Job Overview:

Secure Energy is seeking a highly skilled Senior Corrosion Technologist/Scientist to join our Fluids Management laboratory. This role is pivotal in the formulation and performance assessment of chemical corrosion inhibitors, utilizing advanced high-temperature and pressure autoclaves, as well as RCE and LPR testing equipment under varying conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be tasked with a variety of critical functions, including:

  • Operating and interpreting results from HT/LP autoclaves, RCE (Rotating Cylinder Electrode), and LPR/Bubble corrosion inhibitor tests.
  • Assessing the effectiveness of H2S scavengers.
  • Innovating and evaluating new formulations for corrosion inhibitors.
  • Providing expert technical assistance to both technical and sales teams regarding corrosion inhibition and testing methodologies.
  • Ensuring compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in alignment with Secure Energy's safety protocols, as well as ASTM and AMPP standards.
  • Composing detailed technical reports and proposals.
  • Managing gas cylinders, including those containing H2S gas.
  • Conducting residual testing for corrosion inhibitors.

Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience as a Chemical or Engineering Technologist.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in corrosion management.
  • Experience with oil and gas production chemicals is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license.
