Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to install and maintain cutting-edge equipment utilized in research, pharmaceutical, academic, and governmental laboratories. This role involves working with sophisticated instruments manufactured by Bruker BioSpin, a leader in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and compact magnetic resonance (CMR) spectroscopy.
- Execute the installation of new or modified NMR systems and accessories at client sites, ensuring they operate according to established specifications.
- Provide on-site technical support for the installation, servicing, and repair of equipment.
- Educate and train clients on the fundamental operation of the equipment.
- Obtain customer approval for installation and repair services.
- Re-qualify the entire instrument post-service by conducting complex compound verification.
- Act as an effective communication bridge between clients and the company to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Biotechnology, Biology, or Chemistry.
- At least 3 years of experience in diagnosing and repairing intricate mechanical, electromechanical, or electronic systems.
- Familiarity with NMR, analog electronics, high voltage circuitry, laser technology, chromatography techniques, cryogenics, and ultra-high vacuum technology is advantageous.
- Strong technical expertise in analytical instrumentation.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively with scientists holding advanced degrees in Biochemistry, Biophysics, or Microbiology.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
- Excellent organizational abilities, capable of working independently, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
- Ability to meet training requirements for the position.
- Participation in quarterly scientific technical training programs is expected.
- Physical capability to lift up to 75 lbs and transport equipment exceeding 300 lbs.
- This role involves handling heavy equipment and maneuvering large items.
- Dexterity to perform manual tasks in confined spaces is necessary.
- Proven adherence to safety standards and practices.
- Valid Driver's License in good standing is required.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is mandatory.
- Must maintain a valid passport for potential domestic and international travel.
- May be subject to a security clearance investigation.
