Job Title: Senior Planner

Job Summary:

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join our Kingston-based Planning Studio. The successful candidate will have a strong background in land use planning, particularly in a municipal setting, and will be responsible for leading a team in the preparation of municipal planning documents, including official plans, secondary plans, and zoning by-laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and coordinate planning reports and applications in support of development proposals for private sector clients.
  • Review planning applications and provide professional advice to municipal clients.
  • Lead public consultation efforts, including creation and delivery of presentations for public meetings, open houses, and workshops.
  • Manage projects from start-to-finish, including coordinating consultant team members, public and approval authority communications, client management, invoicing, and collections.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in land use planning, particularly in a municipal setting.
  • Membership in OPPI (RPP) required.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office, Adobe, etc.
  • Proficiency with GIS, SketchUp, or similar is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
