Your Opportunity
Our Montreal Business Restructuring and Turnaround Service office is seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Manager or Senior Manager/Vice President. This individual will work on and manage corporate restructuring engagements, leveraging their expertise to drive results. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in corporate restructuring, an accounting/finance designation, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising corporate clients, lenders, creditors, or shareholders through financial reviews, business turnarounds, and financial restructurings;
- Developing business relationships with lenders, private equity, legal firms, and the business community;
- Supervising staff, delegating tasks and projects as required, and developing the capabilities of less experienced staff through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge transfer;
- Preparing or managing the production of integrated cash flow models;
- Analyzing cash flow models, projections, and business plans;
- Communicating with debtors, creditors, governmental regulators, and the Courts through stakeholder meetings, reports, and attendance at Court;
- Identifying, targeting, and developing referral sources;
- Assisting with practice development assignments;
- Traveling to other BDO offices and off-site locations as required;
- Flexibility to meet stakeholders during off-hours.

Your Experience and Education
- Enrolled in the Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) program and have completed (or in the process of completing) the CIRP National Insolvency Examination (CNIE);
- CPA accounting and/or senior finance designation required;
- 8 or more years of previous experience within the Restructuring field;
- Able to liaise well with staff and outside parties;
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of insolvency rules, laws, and procedures;
- Excellent spoken, written/verbal communication both in English and French;
- Speaking and writing in French is mandatory;
- Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint);
- Advanced financial modeling skills;
- Detail-oriented, excellent organizational skills;
- Able to prioritize with the flexibility to manage workload demands and multiple tasks as required.
