Key Responsibilities- Design and Build: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements, and measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Construction and Installation: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems, as well as fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
- Maintenance and Repair: Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including commercial, industrial, and residential establishments.
- Physical Demands: The role requires a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads.
- Work Schedule: The position involves working with minimal supervision, overtime, and tight deadlines, with a large workload and physically demanding tasks.
- Education and Experience: A secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the field.
- Personal Qualities: Accurate, client-focused, efficient interpersonal skills, judgement, reliability, team player, values and ethics, and punctuality.
- Learning and Development: Opportunities for learning and training paid by the employer.
- Work-Life Balance: A variable or compressed work week and 40 hours of work per week.
The primary language of work is English, and the work environment is on-site, with various locations and settings.
