Job Summary

The Financial Analyst will perform accounting duties of some complexity and diversity, requiring knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices, and processes of the accounting discipline. He/she/they will conduct complex bank reconciliations, administer various accounts, prepare journal entries and schedules, and reconcile accounts at month and year-end.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
  • Develop and implement financial models and forecasts
  • Manage and reconcile various accounts, including bank and credit card accounts
  • Prepare and submit journal entries and schedules
  • Reconcile accounts at month and year-end

Requirements

  • Diploma in accounting or other relevant field
  • Considerable progressive work experience in a high volume computerized financial accounting environment
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to the employer

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices, and processes of the accounting discipline
  • Comprehensive practical knowledge of accounting procedures, working paper preparation, internal controls, and business practices
  • Advanced practical knowledge of computerized accounting systems and spreadsheet software (Excel)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with figures and high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
