Position Overview:

The IT Change Management Specialist will oversee the change control process, ensuring that all modifications are accurate, complete, and compliant with established standards. This role will facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, manage communications, and report on Production Defect Reviews (PDR) for any unsuccessful changes. The responsibilities within Change Management will include meeting the compliance expectations of customers and business groups.

Key Responsibilities:

Change Management:

  • Evaluate changes for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Coordinate CAB meetings and manage the change management process.
  • Prepare CAB agendas and compile Change Management reports and metrics.
  • Communicate CAB outcomes and Change Management events to relevant stakeholders.
  • Engage stakeholders, including internal and external customers and vendors, in the Change Management process.
  • Foster an environment that encourages open discussions regarding CAB and Change Management best practices.
  • Establish success metrics and performance indicators for Change Management and Disaster Recovery activities.
  • Provide training on Change Management processes and tools.
  • Maintain and enhance Change Management template assets.
  • Ensure proper categorization of Emergency Changes.
  • Participate in monthly Change Review and Validation meetings with IT and PMO.
  • Review and update the Change Management Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) regularly.
  • Support the Project Management and IS Teams in developing change management plans for various projects.
  • Test and validate any changes related to Change Management tools.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as necessary.

Release Management:

  • Engage in implementation planning sessions.
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of Release Implementation plans.
  • Communicate outcomes of Releases to stakeholders.
  • Maintain and improve Release Management template assets.

Business Continuity:

  • Lead the development of Business Continuity plans and Disaster Recovery strategies for critical business systems.
  • Provide recommendations to mitigate risks and develop risk management plans to prevent disruptions.
  • Conduct regular testing exercises to validate recovery and contingency plans.
  • Manage IT recovery efforts during actual events, coordinating with teams across the organization.
  • Develop and oversee the Business Continuity risk analysis process.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including Disaster Recovery plans and recovery run books.
  • Establish critical IT recovery performance targets and monitoring systems.
  • Provide training on Disaster Recovery management and Business Continuity best practices.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, or Change Management.
  • Certification in Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery (e.g., ABCP, CBCP, MBCI).
  • ITIL foundation certification is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Business Impact Assessments and Risk Impact Assessments.
  • Familiarity with Emergency Notification Tools and SharePoint.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Excellent organizational skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and collaborate with various departments.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours as needed.
