About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Upholsterer to join our team at AMAN FURNITURE MFG AND SALE. As an Upholsterer, you will be responsible for creating high-quality furniture pieces that meet our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Interaction
    • Discuss upholstery fabric, colour and style with customers to ensure their needs are met.
  • Cost Estimation and Planning
    • Provide accurate cost estimates for upholstering furniture or other items.
  • Upholstery and Repair
    • Replace worn-out webbing, springs and other furniture parts.
    • Lay out, cut, fabricate and install upholstery.
    • Tack, glue or sew ornamental trim, braids or buttons.
    • Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces.
    • Operate sewing machines or sew by hand.
    • Garnish the bottom and the back of a seat with interoven rattan.
  • Industry Experience
    • Furniture and fixtures manufacturing company experience is an asset.
    • Furniture upholstery and repair shop experience is a must.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
    • Manual dexterity is required for this role.
    • Attention to detail is essential.
    • Hand-eye co-ordination is necessary.
    • Ability to distinguish between colours is required.
    • Combination of sitting, standing, walking is expected.
    • Sitting for extended periods is required.
    • Bending, crouching, kneeling is necessary.
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
    • Permanent employment is offered.
    • English is the primary language of communication.
    • 32 hours per week is the expected work schedule.
