The Clinical Laboratory Specialist role is currently open at Interior Health Authority. This part-time position (0.75fte) is designed to provide relief support within a dedicated laboratory team. The work schedule spans Monday to Friday, encompassing both day and evening shifts until midnight, with on-call responsibilities from midnight to 7am. Weekend duties are limited to on-call from Friday evening through Monday morning.

As a Clinical Laboratory Specialist, you will thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented setting, executing a variety of tasks across Chemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Medicine, including venipuncture.
Your key responsibilities will encompass:
- Conducting routine and/or advanced tests using both manual techniques and automated systems
- Inputting data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and associated programs
- Validating and disseminating test results
- Maintaining laboratory instruments and preparing necessary solutions and control agents
- Participating in training, evaluation, and enhancement initiatives
The facility is a Level 1 Community Hospital within the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area. It provides a range of services, including acute care, laboratory services, obstetrics, and emergency care.
