We are currently seeking to enhance our Landscape Maintenance team by bringing on board an Irrigation Technician who possesses the expertise and experience necessary to oversee a designated route within the Greater Toronto Area, including York and Durham regions.

This is a full-time, year-round opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the installation of irrigation systems, perform maintenance and repairs, manage system openings and closings, and provide low voltage lighting services and repairs, along with green roof maintenance and installation.
  • Conduct spring start-ups, seasonal adjustments, and winterization of irrigation systems.
  • Diagnose and rectify issues within irrigation systems (such as replacing sprinklers and fixing leaks).
  • Assess completed irrigation systems to ensure proper operation of valves and timers.
  • Utilize hand and power tools effectively, including performing hand trenching as needed.
  • Work autonomously while attending to service calls.
  • Engage with clients to maintain their systems and address any inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Organize and maintain an adequate inventory of parts within the company vehicle.
  • Ensure tasks are completed efficiently and within set timelines.
  • Consistently wear appropriate personal protective equipment and demonstrate awareness of safety hazards.
  • Participate in training sessions and commit to continuous learning, aiming to achieve certification as a Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT).
  • Safely operate the company vehicle while maintaining a clean driving record.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance are crucial for success in this role.
  • Complete time-sheets, service reports, and other necessary documentation as required.
Qualifications:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role as an Irrigation Service Technician.
  • In-depth knowledge of irrigation products, specialized tools, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Possession of a valid class 'G' driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and a positive outlook.
  • Desire to acquire new skills to improve job performance.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Physically capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in plumbing or copper soldering is advantageous but not essential.
