Director of Internships Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Internships to join our team at SLS Barcelona. As a key member of our pre-opening team, you will be responsible for successfully opening and launching our cocktail bar, leading the growth, maintaining the standards of excellence, and always seeking to improve performance of all areas of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the team and day-to-day operations of the cocktail bar
  • Work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage and Assistant of Food & Beverage Director to ensure high-quality service and maximize guest satisfaction
  • Forecast sales and ensure all items are correctly and accurately costed and priced according to margin targets issued by the management
  • Manage the team's productivity and operational expenses to ensure profitability
  • Ensure that food and beverage products are of the highest quality and presented to the highest standard
  • Support the Director of Food and Beverage in administrative tasks, departmental reports, and strategic planning
  • Implement and enforce cash and payment control policies within food & beverage areas, ensuring compliance among staff
  • Manage budget and prepare monthly management accounts with the accounting department

Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication in Spanish and English
  • Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook proficient
  • Proven project management skills
  • Intimate knowledge of international bar community and cocktail bars
  • Highly motivated individual with a passion for drinks, food, service, and hospitality with entrepreneurial outlook and 'can-do' attitude
