Diesel Mechanic Job Description

At ONTARIO INC., we are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment and trucks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instruct apprentices in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and trucks.
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment.
  • Order parts and maintain inventory.
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work.
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks.
  • Service attachments and working tools.
  • Verify and repair emission control systems.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
  • Physically demanding work environment.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Handling heavy loads.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Sound discrimination.
