The Investment Relationship Manager is essential in delivering investment-focused financial guidance, driving investment transactions, consolidating client assets, and attracting new clientele within designated branches. Working in tandem with branch personnel, the Investment Relationship Manager is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of clients with varied financial requirements.
Through proactive engagement and relationship cultivation, the Investment Relationship Manager aims to grow the wealth portfolio by maintaining consistent communication, employing modular financial strategies, and conducting annual assessments. Furthermore, they collaborate closely with senior wealth management team members to identify opportunities for more intricate financial needs and provide referrals based on the Wealth Segmentation framework.
Core Responsibilities
- Forge strong partnerships with branch teams to facilitate introductions to current clients
- Leverage available resources to proactively connect with clients (including marketing materials, call lists, and referrals)
- Oversee a designated client portfolio by applying financial planning principles and relationship management tools to meet investment objectives
- Schedule regular interactions with clients to assess their needs and strengthen relationships
- Assist clients in consolidating their financial assets within the organization
- Enhance the wealth management expertise of branch partners to ensure a customized financial planning experience
- Collaborate with branch sales teams and provide value through educational sessions
- Maintain comprehensive records of client relationships, financial aspirations, and compliance documentation
- Manage the assigned client portfolio in conjunction with other specialists
- Deliver financial guidance utilizing the Personal Investment Plan (PIP) tool
- Serve as a mentor for junior staff under the supervision of the Branch Manager
- Evaluate referrals as necessary based on client inquiries
Performance Expectations
- Achieve high client satisfaction within the assigned portfolio through retention rates, new sales growth, wealth advisor referrals, and High Value account transitions to Investment Advisors
- Enhance portfolio value
- Increase client profitability
- Refer complex investment portfolios to Investment Advisors
Qualifications
Education / Certification / Experience
- Completion of post-secondary education along with 5 years of relevant experience in a financial institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Investment Funds in Canada (IFIC) course with immediate licensure capability
- Preferably holding a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designation
- At least 2 years of financial advisory experience with a proven sales track record
- Thorough understanding of financial products and services, including credit offerings
Knowledge / Skills / Competencies
- Proficiency in various software applications such as Excel and Word
- Demonstrated expertise in sales management, needs assessment, and solution presentation
- Strong sales abilities, including active listening, opportunity identification, influencing, negotiating, and closing
- Effective written communication skills for conveying detailed information to clients and other departments/partners
- Sound judgment and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
