Rehabilitation Support Specialist

Position Overview
The Rehabilitation Support Specialist is responsible for executing both direct and indirect patient care tasks as well as non-patient related duties, as directed by the supervising Therapist and/or Discipline Manager. This role also encompasses clerical responsibilities within the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Departments as assigned, along with reception and housekeeping tasks as needed.
Experience Requirements- Prior experience in direct patient care within an acute care Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy setting is preferred.
- Completion of Grade 12 education.
- Successful graduation from a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program is mandatory.
- Consideration may be given to candidates actively pursuing a degree in Physiotherapy (PT) or Occupational Therapy (OT).
- Must meet the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements as per employer policy.
- Proficient computer skills are essential.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English is required, along with exceptional interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse individuals.
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks efficiently.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be capable of sitting, standing, or walking for extended durations without the need for rest.
Note: This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search, as well as checks for Child Abuse Registry and Adult Abuse Registry as conditions of employment. The selected candidate will bear any associated service charges. A security check is deemed current if conducted within six months prior to employment commencement.
It is important to note that an employee cannot hold multiple positions within the organization that together exceed 1.0 EFT.
