Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Parts Sales Representative to join our team at Maxim Truck and Trailer. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for selling used parts to external customers and responding to internal parts requests from our Body Repair & Paint Technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Post parts on our computerized business system to ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Review repair orders for parts accuracy before final billing to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales and decrease obsolete stock by suggesting additional parts and up-selling products to customers.
  • Stock shelves and report stock levels to the Parts Manager to ensure efficient inventory management.
  • Participate in annual parts inventories, clean-up, and preparation work to maintain a well-organized warehouse.
  • Sources parts for select customers by phoning suppliers and competitors to provide the best possible service.
  • Seek technical information regarding new and current products to stay up-to-date on industry developments.
  • Order merchandise within established limits to ensure timely delivery of parts to customers.
  • Sell parts to external customers and build customer relationships by correctly identifying parts needed, taking orders, creating invoices, billing out freight, and collecting payment.
  • Provide requested parts to Technicians and make suggestions on additional parts needed for repair to ensure efficient repair processes.
  • May assist in filling outside Parts Sales Rep's orders and identify potential customers to expand our customer base.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in parts counter sales.
  • Knowledge of Heavy-duty truck and trailer parts is preferred.
  • Prior parts sourcing or purchasing experience is preferred.
  • MPI claim experience is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Customer service focus and ability to build relationships.
  • Able to up-sell products to customers.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer knowledge: keyboarding, data entry, internet.
  • Ability to learn in-house billing system.
  • Strong numbers orientation, attentive to details.
  • Organized, sets priorities, meets deadlines.
  • A team player, shows initiative, and a learner attitude.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Mechanical aptitude is an asset.
