US Tax Director

We are seeking a highly skilled US Tax Director to join our Global Tax Advisory team at Manulife. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert tax advice and guidance on US federal, international, and state tax matters related to corporate tax planning projects, including mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions.
Key Responsibilities- US Tax Planning: Prepare analyses on the US tax consequences of projects for our business units, and develop and implement optimized planning solutions.
- Tax Research: Conduct in-depth research on US tax laws and regulations, and provide recommendations to our leadership team.
- Tax Due Diligence: Lead tax due diligence of acquisitions/dispositions, including modeling and analysis.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with US tax laws and regulations, and coordinate with our Accounting Policy and Controllers team.
- Tax Strategy: Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax benefits.
- Experience: 6 years or more of US tax experience, including corporate tax planning with a multinational organization, public accounting firm, or law firm.
- Qualifications: CPA or other professional tax designation, and strong communication and writing skills.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
