Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Secondary School Principal to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our school community, promoting academic excellence, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the school community, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Develop and implement academic programs that meet the needs of all students, promoting academic excellence and equity.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure effective communication and a shared commitment to student success.
- Manage school resources, including budget, personnel, and facilities, to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Seven (7) years of successful teaching or administrative experience.
- Teaching experience in two or more divisions and/or specialized areas within the school system.
- Certificate of Qualification and Registration in good standing from the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT).
- Master of Education (preferred).
- Special Education, Part 1 (preferred).
- Addressing Anti-Black Racism to Change Pedagogy and Practice, Part 1 or equivalent (preferred).
- Completed Principal's qualifications according to Regulation 298: Section 9 (Principal's Certificate Part I and Part II or equivalent) prior to beginning assignment.
- Completed Religious Education Specialist or equivalency (i.e., Master of Religious Education).
- Completed Modules I & II of the Board's current Catholic Leadership Program or equivalent.
- Committed to, or completion of, Equity and Inclusion Training Part I, with a commitment to complete Part II within the first year of appointment.
- Pastoral Reference for a Leadership Position in Catholic Education (dated within the last twelve months).
- Recommendation from your current supervising Superintendent of Education.
