Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Security Officer to join our team at Scarborough Birchmount Hospital. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents, while maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide security patrols and response to incidents, including interior and exterior patrols within the hospital and surrounding areas.
  • Display excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistance.
  • Perform a variety of preventative and reactive duties, including but not limited to, door opening requests, CCTV camera reviews, and security escort services.
  • Investigate and follow-up on incidents, report writing, and door opening requests.
  • Responsible for all office duties, including ID badges, key distribution, lost and found, and other administrative tasks.

Requirements:

  • A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Proficient in English (both oral and written)
  • Degree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services
  • Knowledge of Trespass to Property Act (TPA), Mental Health Act of Ontario, Steps to Arrest and Criminal Code - Section 494
  • Proof of double Covid Vaccination
  • Immunization Record (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and TB skin tests 1 and 2)
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification
