This dynamic position requires you to be an integral contributor to the overall long-term strategy of Energy Systems, with your outputs being utilized by senior leadership to inform strategic investment decisions that enhance long-term value.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough financial analyses, including company valuations, financial modeling, and industry research to support corporate finance and strategic decision-making.
  • Assist deal teams in project structuring and commercial negotiations.
  • Perform due diligence on potential acquisition targets and investment opportunities, validating key assumptions, assessing strategic rationale, and identifying associated risks and opportunities.
  • Engage in quantitative and qualitative evaluations of opportunities and prepare presentation materials for senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, advisors, and consultants to provide transaction support.
  • Conduct micro- and macro-industry research to aid in strategy formulation.
  • Stay informed on market transactions, economic developments, and industry insights.
  • Utilize long-range planning models to perform financial and scenario analyses for strategic planning.
  • Interact with various ATCO teams to complete special projects or initiatives as required.


Candidate Profile:
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
  • Completion or nearing completion of a financial designation such as CFA, CBV, CPA, or MBA is preferred.
  • 3-7 years of experience in corporate development, strategic planning, investment banking, or a closely related field.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities, including financial statement analysis.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Interest or experience in regulated utilities and an understanding of the economics of regulated businesses.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality work and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and embrace new challenges with a positive outlook.
  • Maintain professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Capable of working independently with a focus on detail and results.
  • Expertise in Excel and MS Office applications.
