This family-oriented organization has experienced steady growth over the last 35 years and is in search of a detail-oriented financial professional who is enthusiastic about the real estate sector and keen to advance their career within a reputable and expanding family business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily functions of the finance department, including managing finance personnel, ensuring precise financial reporting, and upholding internal controls.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, along with controllership duties as required to meet financial deadlines.
- Supervise, mentor, and support finance staff to guarantee accurate and timely financial processing.
- Review and authorize invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
- Assist with payroll functions for a growing team of full-time employees using ADP as necessary.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Monitor budget performance and analyze variances.
- Conduct job costing and project cost-based activities, including percentage of completion, work in progress tracking, and construction accounting.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Enhance, implement, and maintain internal controls and financial procedures.
- Assist in coordinating audits and supplying necessary documentation to external auditors.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a family-oriented real estate and construction setting.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or indirect managerial capacity.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline, along with a CPA designation.
