Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Municipal Engineer to join our team in the Medicine Hat region. As an Intermediate Municipal Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of municipal engineering projects, working closely with clients and contractors to deliver successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Development: Develop and implement municipal engineering projects, including conceptualization, detailed design, tendering, and construction contract administration.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other design staff, clients, and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Client Communications: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and deliver solutions that meet their expectations.
  • Contract Administration: Administer construction contracts, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Field Work: Conduct field work as required, including site inspections and monitoring of construction progress.
  • Reporting and Proposals: Prepare technical reports and proposals, including cost estimates and project schedules.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer Designation: Hold a Professional Engineer designation in Alberta (APEGA) or Technologist designation through ASET.
  • Experience: Have at least 5 years of relevant experience in the field of Civil Engineering.
  • Communication Skills: Possess strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Software Proficiency: Be proficient in Civil 3D software and have experience with water, sewer, and stormwater modeling software.
