Job Title: Transportation Manager

SHIPCART DISTRIBUTION SERVICES is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Manager to oversee the daily operations of our transportation department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and transportation management, with experience in supervising a team of 3-4 people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate daily operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Monitor department's performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Plan and organize daily operations, including scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods
  • Plan for changes to schedules and policies, and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Prepare reports for senior management on departmental performance and transportation metrics
  • Supervise staff and provide guidance on transportation procedures and best practices
  • Manage finances or budget, including arranging for shipping documentation and tracking and tracing of goods in transit
  • Negotiate for services and preferential rates with transportation providers
  • Oversee the setting of transportation service rates and monitor revenue
  • Organize and maintain inventory, including recording cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in transportation management
  • Strong knowledge of logistics and transportation principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Working Conditions:
  • 40 hours per week
  • Permanent position
  • English language required
