We are seeking a qualified teacher to join our team at the British Columbia Provincial School for the Deaf, a Provincial Resource Program overseen by the Burnaby School District. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing, using a variety of teaching methods and strategies to meet the needs of all learners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education, with experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Responsibilities
  • Teach students who are deaf or hard of hearing, using a variety of teaching methods and strategies to meet the needs of all learners
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans for students
  • Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to provide a comprehensive education program
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to ensure that students receive the support they need
Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor of Education Degree or academic equivalent
  • A Master's Degree or Diploma in the education of the deaf and hard of hearing or certification by the Canadian Association of Educators of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CAEDHH)
  • Fluency in sign (A.S.L.)
