Your Opportunity:
At Alberta Health Services, we offer a competitive rate of pay and a Northern Allowance of up to $6,300 per year. Additionally, eligible employees can receive an annual reimbursement of up to $1,235 for personal travel expenses within Alberta.
Description:
As a Health Care Aide, you will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to provide personal assistance and support services to patients who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. Your responsibilities will include assisting with activities of daily living, providing support services, and observing and reporting on patient mood, health, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs
- Support nurses with the provision of routine care
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors
- Communicate effectively with patients and health professionals
Required Qualifications:
Completion of a Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum may also be considered.
