Position Overview:

The Electrical Superintendent, reporting directly to the Project Manager, plays a crucial role in overseeing and directing site construction activities within the Electrical division, collaborating effectively with various trades. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in large-scale construction projects, particularly in Water and Wastewater Treatment facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of NAC's Health, Safety, and Environment policies, ensuring adherence to the responsibilities outlined in the HSE Manual. Foster a strong work ethic and positive relationships with the site team, including subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders, to promote a collaborative work environment. Be the foremost expert in your trade for the project, taking proactive measures to grasp the scope of work thoroughly. Ensure a complete understanding of project estimates, material, and labor cost codes, while being accountable to the Project Superintendent and Trade Operations Manager for compliance. Assist the Project Superintendent by providing draft planning aids by the end of each week in preparation for weekly Planning Aid meetings. Oversee the preparation and approval of timesheets. Administer the terms of the collective agreement alongside NAC's policies and procedures. Provide specialized technical expertise to the project management team for the execution of RFIs, RFS, CRX, commissioning plans, and requisitions, with a focus on field operations. Interpret NAC's contractual obligations relevant to your responsibilities, ensuring compliance with the project-specific Quality Plan and delivering a final product that meets contractual standards. Offer regular performance feedback to your team, providing coaching and disciplinary actions as necessary.

Qualifications:

Trade certification along with 3-5 years of experience as an electrical superintendent on relevant heavy construction projects, preferably in WTPs and/or WWTPs. Extensive knowledge of mechanical and civil trades in addition to electrical expertise. Some experience in Project Management. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Ability to lead and evaluate trade performance effectively. Quick to identify issues, assess alternative solutions, and implement effective resolutions. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Results-driven with the capability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently. Valid WHMIS, Elevated/Aerial Work Platform, and Fall Arrest certifications are mandatory.
