Position Overview

The Land Acquisition Project Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing land campaigns and negotiations with landowners, primarily in the eastern United States, while also providing support for projects nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships and budgets with external land agents to ensure necessary agreements for site control are established to meet project timelines.
  • Collaborate with the renewable energy development team and land agents to secure all parcels required for successful project execution, including sites for turbines, solar fields, substations, and other essential improvements.
  • Facilitate the acquisition of easements for transmission, distribution, and generation connections.
  • Maintain regular communication with all project team members to ensure clarity on layouts and progress in site control.
  • Ensure land contracts align with the economic and scheduling requirements of the projects.
  • Provide timely and accurate updates on land acquisition status to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and oversee land acquisition budgets.
  • Assess the status of land on project acquisitions to evaluate completeness and identify remaining work needed for successful land acquisition.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in acquiring real property or land leases within the energy sector, including rights of way.
  • Proficiency in Google Earth and other GIS software tools.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational capabilities.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, GIS, or a related field is preferred.
