About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Optical Engines Business Unit at ADVA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the design and introduction to manufacturing of high-speed, highly integrated assemblies for the optical communications market.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for optical communications products using CAD software such as CREO and Solidworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design requirements are met and manufacturing processes are optimized.
- Perform FEA stress and thermal modeling on electro-optical assemblies to ensure reliability and performance.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, assembly manuals, and test procedures.
- Work with suppliers to obtain quotations and lead times for prototype parts and materials.
Requirements and Qualifications
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in mechanical design and development, with a focus on optical communications or related field.
- Strong knowledge of CAD software, including CREO and Solidworks.
- Experience with FEA stress and thermal modeling, and ability to analyze and interpret results.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
