Job Opportunity

The University of Lethbridge is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a Tenure-Track position in neuroscience at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on cerebral function across the life span, in humans and/or nonhuman animals, with a systems-level approach, utilizing state-of-the-art imaging methods.
  • Develop and instruct undergraduate and graduate courses in neuroscience, promoting academic excellence and student engagement.
  • Establish and maintain an independent, active, and externally funded research program, contributing to the university's research initiatives.
Research Focus
  • Develop a research program focusing on mechanisms underlying normal or disordered complex processes, including memory, perception, movement, action, social behavior, emotion, and/or neurodevelopment in nonhuman animals and/or humans.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, including NMRs, 3T MRI, electron microscope, multiphoton and confocal microscopes, high throughput digital imaging, in vitro recording facilities, multiple in vivo ensemble single unit recording suites, dense-array and portable electroencephalography, optical imaging lab, dedicated parallel computing cluster, and numerous state-of-the-art surgical and behavioral testing suites.
