Wind Turbine Technician Job Description

At Spark Power, we're seeking a highly skilled Wind Turbine Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our wind turbines across Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on wind turbine generators, including inspections, greasing, cleaning, and torqueing of bolted connections.
  • Apply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure safe working conditions.
  • Conduct electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues.
  • Follow and implement work procedures to inspect, repair, and maintain wind turbine components.
  • Document client and company information on a daily basis.
  • Maintain a clean work area, equipment, and tooling.
  • Perform other daily work requirements as directed by Site Management.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of experience working as a Wind Turbine Technician.
  • Valid GE training certificates for LOTO/maintenance and additional higher-level GE certificates.
  • Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance, or repair experience.
  • Experience with motors, rotors, drives, gears, or similar.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Digital literacy, including proficiency with mobile apps.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with a team mentality.
  • Able to travel across Canada and work at heights (up to 400 ft).
  • Ability to lift 23kg (50 lbs) and work in adverse weather conditions.
